Hoya cv. Sunrise is the result of crossing Hoya lacunosa var. pallidiflora x Hoya obscura, cultivar was obtained in 1992 by Michael Miyashiro (Michael Miyashiro), officially registered, herbarium specimen is in the US Herbarium, Smithsonian Institution.
Hoya cv. Sunrise has inherited the best qualities from its parents. It is easy to culture, blooms quickly. It prefers to grow with ampel, however it can be placed on a support.
The leaves are smooth, dark green, oval, with sharp tips, similar in shape to the leaves of Hoya lacunosa, but with a venation and tendency to “sunbathe” in the open sun like Hoya obscura. Sheet size: 5.5 - 7.5 cm long, 1.5 - 2.5 cm wide. In a flat flower umbrella 10-20 individual flowers with a diameter of 5 mm open. The corolla petals are strongly curved back, white with a pink shade, which increases depending on the intensity of the sunlight - hence the name of the cultivar: “Sunrise”. The crown of the flower is yellowish creamy. In flowers Hoya cv. Sunrise pleasant fragrance, flowering lasts about a week.
